Pilates has many benefits including improving muscle strength, increasing flexibility, developing body awareness, better co-ordination and balance, and building bone strength. In addition to this Pilates also helps with aiding relaxation, releasing any built up tension or stress, pain management and/or relief, prevention of injury, and developing a positive frame of mind.
My classes provide mat work Pilates. In running small class sizes of up to 12 people it means that everyone can be supported as best as possible. Each class will work on strengthening the core and mobilising all the main joints in the body.
If you have a body and want to move, you can do Pilates! Over time our bodies can change. Events such as pregnancy or child birth, childhood or adult injuries, and health conditions can all impact on how our body feels and moves. Pilates can address these changes to help rebalance and strengthen the body.
Pilates is a whole body work out but it can also focus on specific areas of the body when needed (for example to address an old shoulder injury or build bone density in the wrists.)

I am based in London and teach in the areas of Lewisham, Greenwich and Bromley. I regularly cover classes for other Pilates teachers.
My name is Louise and I am the founder of Prone2Pilates, which has been running since January 2019. I discovered Pilates some years ago after injuring my back. Feeling concerned at the lack of information on preventing further back injury I sought the advice of a local chiropractor. She recommended that I start Pilates. It is safe to say that I haven't looked back since! I joined a healthy backs class and once I had found my confidence and strength I moved on to the intermediate classes. I enjoyed classes so much that I began training to be a Pilates teacher. I trained with Body Control Pilates and I am currently qualified in Mat work Level 3. I shall be continuing to grow as a Pilates teacher by carrying out further training to build on my current expertise.
